Team invites & permissions
Add team members and control what they can see and do.
Invite a team member
1. Go to Team (or Settings → Team). 2. Click Invite team member. 3. Enter their email and select their role (see below). 4. They'll receive an email with an invite link (expires in 7 days). 5. Once they accept, they appear on your team.
Roles
Owner
- Full access to everything: books, billing, team, settings, data export/erasure.
- Can't revoke your own access; other owners can.
- Use for: yourself, co-founders with full authority.
Admin
- Full access to books: invoicing, costs, reconciliation, planning, compliance.
- Access to team (add/remove members).
- Cannot: change billing, cancel subscriptions, or alter security settings.
- Use for: trusted accountants, bookkeepers, operations managers.
Member
- Read-only or entity-scoped (see below).
- Can view reports and comment on records.
- Cannot: create, edit, or delete anything.
- Use for: team members reviewing only (e.g., finance analysts, client advisors).
Entity-level access (accountants)
Run a practice with many clients? You can scope permissions to specific entities:
1. Invite a team member as Admin or Member. 2. Under Entity access, choose which clients they can see (e.g., "Alice can only see Client A & B"). 3. They'll only see those clients' books when they log in.
Use for: client managers who handle specific accounts, or junior accountants training on a subset.
Revoke access
1. Go to Team. 2. Find the member and click Remove. 3. They lose access immediately (if logged in, they're signed out on next refresh).
Security best practices
- Keep your login secure: use passkeys or biometric login for security.
- Limit admins: only give admin access to people who need to change settings.
- Review team quarterly: remove access for people who've left.
- Use entity scoping: if you run a practice, always scope member access to their clients only.
Invite link expiry
Sent an invite that wasn't accepted? Invites expire after 7 days. You can resend from the Team page.
